Stony Brook Boardwalk
I reconfigured a linear park into a boardwalk with a wetland landscape as a way of acknowledging Boston’s history of landfilling swamps while simultaneously providing natural water infrastructure that works with the existing pipes buried beneath the ground. The boardwalk is composed of ramps that are below the minimum ADA grade and a central platform that allows for different kinds of gathering. The wetland landscape and rock swale function as natural water filtration systems that also provide habitats for wildlife, an education landscape for park users, and beautiful scenery.
